KAWASAKI ZX7R
1996 - 2003
The ZX7R has a cult following, much like a GSXR, the fact that it probably hung around too long and wasn't the fastest bike available not detracting from people's love for the big green machine.

What Practical Sportsbike said...

"Strong, stable and short on vices. The ZX-7R has got so much going for it.”

The ZX7R followed the successful lineage of the ZXR750. Whilst WSB title success was not achieved in its guise as a ZX7 a world championship did come courtesy of British rider Brian Morrison in the Endurance World Championship.

The green machine became a familiar sight carving its way around world and domestic series, who could forget the exploits of Glenn Richards and Scott Smart battling at the front of BSB on a bike many considered past-its-sell-by-date.
OUR KAWASAKI ZX7R
ESSENTIAL FACTS
It is hard not to have a soft spot for the green machine with its distinctive look - our kawasaki ZX7R pays homage to the hard charging Hawk bikes of the later years.
  • A full Akropovic exhaust system lets the inline four breathe a little easier and releases a little more power a little more smoothly from the stock engine.
  • The front end feel of this bike is famous and one of its strong points but improvements come via a re-valve and re-spring from the experts at Maxton. The rear is currently supported by a YSS unit but will be changed in the coming months for a Maxton unit.
  • Handlebars/clipons, lever protection and bespoke machined parts supplied by Vigour Multi-Axis Machining Specialists.
  • Like the other 750s in the stable, the ZX7 came with six pots not famous for their feel, swapped for Tokiko four pots and new Brembo radial master cylinder gives the stopping power expected of a track focussed machine. Lines are by HEL.
  • Cooling hoses are all replaced with Samco Sport items.
  • Grip is taken care of by Dunlop - the Dunlop D212 GP Racer tyres have their pedigree routed firmly in Isle of Man TT success.
